What is a Bookish Mystery Bundle?
A mystery bundle is a carefully curated collection of bookish goodies, stationery, self-care treats and cosy surprises, with every bundle packed by hand. ✨
To create each bundle, I use two baskets of mystery capsules: one for Standard picks and one for Deluxe picks. Inside each capsule is a slip of paper with an item type written on it, such as paper bookmark or highlighter for a Standard pick, or glassware or Bookshelf Decoration for a Deluxe pick.
I can’t see which item type is inside each capsule before I choose it, so the selection is genuinely random. 🎁
The bundle you order determines how many capsules I pick and the balance of Standard and Deluxe items:
- The Book Nook includes 10 mystery picks, made up of a mix of Standard and Deluxe items.
- The Cosy Corner includes 15 mystery picks, with a larger selection of Deluxe items.
- The Reading Retreat includes 25 mystery picks, featuring our biggest mix and the highest number of Deluxe items.
Once the capsules have been selected and opened, I use those item categories to build your bundle from the stock I have available.
I then carefully curate the final selection around the preferences you’ve shared, such as themes, colours and styles, wherever possible.
So while the type of items is chosen at random, the finished bundle is still thoughtfully put together with you in mind. 💕📚
Are your bundles suitable for all ages?
At the moment, Bookish by Cat bundles are designed primarily with teen and adult readers in mind. 💕
I'm hoping to expand my range in the future to include bundles and goodies for younger book lovers too, so keep an eye out for new additions as the business grows! ✨

Do the bundles include books?
At the moment, my bundles focus on bookish gifts, stationery, and self-care treats rather than books themselves. I'm hoping to introduce book options in the future, so keep an eye out! 📖
Can I tell you my favourite genres or colours?
Absolutely! There is a 'Personalise your bundle' option where you can tell me about your favourite genres, colours, aesthetics, tropes, or anything you'd love me to consider when packing your bundle.
Can I request a specific theme?
Absolutely! If you have a favourite colour, aesthetic, season, trope, or vibe, let me know in the notes box and I'll do my best to incorporate it into your bundle. 💕
What if I don't leave any preferences?
No problem at all! I'll use my creativity to curate a surprise bundle filled with cozy bookish goodness. ✨
Can I choose the items in my bundle?
Not exactly — the specific items in your mystery bundle are selected through the Bookish by Cat mystery capsule system, so the contents stay genuinely surprising. 🎁📚
Your preferences are still really important, though. Once the item types have been selected, I’ll use the information you provide, such as favourite colours, themes, styles or general preferences, to curate your bundle from the stock I have available.
If you let me know there’s something you definitely don’t want included, I’ll always take that into account when putting your bundle together wherever possible. 💕
So while you can’t choose exact products, I’ll always do my best to make your mystery bundle feel personal to you. Think of it as a personalised mystery. ✨
How many items are included?
The number of items depends on which mystery bundle you choose. 📚✨
The Book Nook includes 10 mystery items, made up of a mix of Standard and Deluxe picks.
The Cosy Corner includes 15 mystery items, with a larger selection of Deluxe picks included.
The Reading Retreat includes 25 mystery items and features our biggest selection, with the highest number of Deluxe picks.
The exact items themselves are selected at random using the Bookish by Cat mystery capsule system, then carefully curated around your preferences, themes and colours wherever possible. 💕
🍂 Seasonal and limited-edition boxes work a little differently. Each seasonal product page will clearly explain what is included in that particular box, so you’ll know what to expect before ordering. Some seasonal boxes may also contain additional little surprises that aren’t revealed in advance — because we still have to keep a little bit of mystery! ✨🎁

Will I receive duplicate items?
I do my very best to avoid duplicates within the same order. If you're a returning customer, I'll also try to avoid sending the same items again where possible, although this can't always be guaranteed.
What types of items could be in my bundle?
Every bundle is a little different, but you can expect a mix of bookish treats, stationery, self-care goodies, and cozy surprises. Some examples include:

Are all bundles the same?
No! Every bundle is packed individually, meaning no two bundles will be exactly alike. That's what makes each one special. ✨
Will my Mystery Bundle look exactly like the photos?
The photos shown on the Bookish by Cat website and social media are examples only and are intended to give you an idea of the style, variety and types of products you may receive. 📚✨
Your mystery bundle will be individually selected and curated, so your exact items may be completely different from those shown in the photos.
Colours, designs, product types, brands and themes can vary depending on current stock and the preferences you provide.
The surprise is part of the experience, so no two bundles are guaranteed to be the same. 💕
What are Limited Edition & Seasonal Boxes?
My Limited Edition & Seasonal Boxes are specially curated collections inspired by the seasons, special occasions and all those cosy little moments we book lovers adore. 🍂📚
Unlike my Mystery Bundles, you’ll be able to see what’s included in each collection before you order — although I may still sneak in a little extra surprise or two!
Each box is carefully put together and hand-packed by me, with products chosen to complement the theme and create a gorgeous little bookish experience. 🤎
Are Seasonal Boxes mystery boxes?
Not quite! My Seasonal Boxes are curated collections rather than Mystery Bundles, so the main goodies you’ll receive will be listed in the product description.
Some colours, patterns or designs may vary depending on availability, but any variations will always be chosen to complement the theme of your box. 🍁✨
There may also be the occasional little surprise tucked inside — because where’s the fun without a tiny bit of mystery? 📚
Are Seasonal & Limited Edition Boxes available all year?
No — that’s what makes them extra special! 🤎
Seasonal and Limited Edition collections are released in limited quantities and for a limited time only. Once a collection is gone, it may not be restocked.
Some of your favourite themes might make another appearance in the future, but this can’t be guaranteed — so if you fall in love with one, I wouldn’t leave it too long before making it yours.
Can I personalise my Seasonal Box?
Absolutely! If there’s a personalisation box on the product page, you’re welcome to leave me a little note or request and I’ll always do my best to help. 🤎
If your collection includes a drink sachet, you can request an alternative where available. You can also request a FREE handwritten gift note if you’re sending your box to someone special. 🎁
Other product swaps, colours or specific item requests can’t be guaranteed as my seasonal stock is limited, but I’ll always consider your preferences where I can.
Will my Seasonal Box look exactly like the photographs?
Your box will follow the same beautiful theme and include the goodies listed within the product description. 📚🍂
As some products are seasonal or handmade, colours, patterns and individual designs may vary slightly from the photographs shown. This means your collection might have its own little differences!
Where a variation or substitution is necessary, I’ll always aim to choose something that fits beautifully with the overall theme and is of an appropriate equivalent value. 🤎
Can I buy a bundle as a gift?
Of course! 🤎 All Bookish by Cat products make lovely gifts for book lovers, whether you choose a Mystery Bundle, Seasonal Collection or any other Bookish Treats I may offer. 🎁📚
If you’re sending your order directly to someone special, simply enter their delivery address at checkout and I’ll take care of the rest.
Can I include a gift message?
You can request a FREE handwritten gift note to add an extra personal touch. Just leave your message in the personalisation box when ordering. ✨
What if I have an allergy or sensitivity?
Some Bookish by Cat products and collections may contain food, drink, fragranced, cosmetic or self-care items. If you have an allergy, intolerance or sensitivity, please carefully check the product information and packaging before use or consumption.
You’re welcome to leave relevant preferences when ordering and I’ll consider these where possible; however, I cannot guarantee an allergen-free bundle or environment. If you have a serious allergy, please contact me before ordering so I can advise whether the product is suitable.
Are food, drink and self-care products sealed?
Yes. Any food, drink, cosmetic or self-care products supplied by Bookish by Cat will be provided in their original sealed packaging where applicable. Always check the packaging, ingredients, allergen information, instructions and expiry/best-before date before use.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay for a quick and convenient checkout.
Is my payment information secure?
Yes. Payments on Bookish by Cat are processed securely through Shopify’s checkout system, so you can shop with confidence. 📚🤎
Payment information is handled by Shopify and the relevant payment provider used at checkout. Bookish by Cat does not directly receive or store your full card details.
Any customer information you provide when placing an order is handled in line with our Privacy Policy and used only where necessary to process and fulfil your order.
How long does delivery take?
As every bundle is hand-picked, packed, and prepared by me personally, please allow 5–10 working days for your order to be made and dispatched. 💕
Bookish by Cat is currently a one-woman business, which means I'm the one selecting your items, packaging everything with care, and taking orders to be shipped. While I always aim to get orders out as quickly as possible, taking a little extra time helps ensure every bundle feels special and thoughtfully put together.
Where do you ship?
At the moment, I only ship within the UK.
How much is postage?
Standard postage– £4.99 📦
Please allow up to 10 working days for your order to be carefully picked, packed, and dispatched.
Orders over £60 benefit from free shipping!
Can I track my order?
Yes! All Bookish by Cat orders are sent using a tracked delivery service. 📦
Depending on the service used for your order, your parcel will be sent with either Royal Mail or Yodel.
Once your order has been dispatched, you’ll receive your tracking details by email, allowing you to follow your parcel’s journey right to your door.
Please remember that delivery timeframes begin after your order has been processed and dispatched. 🤎
What if my order arrives damaged?
Oh no! 💔 If your order arrives damaged, please get in touch Here or by emailing: admin@bookishbycat.co.uk, within 48 hours of delivery and send me a few photos of the damage.
I take great care when packaging every bundle, but occasionally things can happen during transit. I'll review the issue and do everything I can to put things right as quickly as possible. 💕📚
Your happiness means a lot to me, and I want every Bookish by Cat order to arrive ready to be enjoyed. ✨
Can I return my Order?
Yes. If you change your mind, I can accept a return provided the entire order or complete bundle/box is returned together, unused and in its original condition. 💕
Where products are sold as a complete mystery bundle or seasonal gift box, individual items from within that bundle or box cannot be returned or refunded separately simply because you don’t like a particular item or it isn’t to your taste.
All items originally included in the bundle, box or order must be returned in full for a refund to be considered.
This does not affect your statutory rights if an item arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect.
Can I cancel my order?
If you need to cancel your order, please get in touch as soon as possible after placing it. 🤎
As every Bookish by Cat order is carefully prepared and packed by hand, I’ll always do my best to accommodate cancellation requests before your order has been dispatched.
If your order has already been dispatched, it can no longer be cancelled and you’ll need to follow the applicable returns process instead.

Who packs the bundles?
Just me! 👋 I'm Natalie (Cat), the face behind Bookish by Cat. Every bundle is packed by hand from my little corner of Scotland with lots of care and attention.
Where do you source your products?
I carefully source items from a range of trusted suppliers, wholesalers, and retailers to create unique and affordable mystery bundles for fellow book lovers.
Every item is selected with quality, value, and the overall Bookish by Cat experience in mind. I spend lots of time choosing products that fit the cozy, bookish vibe I want each bundle to have. ✨
Are the items handmade?
Some items are handmade, personalised, or assembled by me, while others are sourced from trusted suppliers and wholesalers. This allows me to create varied mystery bundles while keeping them affordable and full of surprises. 💕
Do all orders get a packing video?
I’ll always aim to film as many orders as possible when they’re picked and packed, especially while Bookish by Cat is still growing. 🎥📚
Packing videos are part of the fun and I love sharing the mystery bundle process on social media, but I can’t guarantee that every order will be filmed.
As the number of orders grows, it may not always be possible to film them all. In future, I may introduce an optional TikTok Spotlight add-on for customers who would like to guarantee a dedicated packing video for their order.
For now, if your order gets picked for a video, consider it a little extra Bookish by Cat bonus. 💕✨
Will I be tagged in the video?
If your order is selected to be filmed and you’d like to be tagged, simply add your TikTok and/or Instagram username in the personalisation box on the product page and I’ll do my best to tag you when the video is posted. 💕📚
If you’d rather stay anonymous, that’s absolutely fine too — just leave your social details blank. ✨
Please remember that while I’ll aim to film as many orders as possible, filming and posting cannot currently be guaranteed.
What is an Extra Bookish Pick?

Extra Bookish Picks allow you to add even more mystery goodies to your order! Simply choose a Standard, Deluxe or Double Bookish Pick, and I’ll randomly pull the corresponding capsule(s) while preparing your bundle.
You won’t know exactly what you’re getting until you open it — that’s all part of the fun! ✨
What’s included in a Standard Bookish Pick?
One Standard capsule will be picked completely at random, adding an extra little bookish treat to your bundle. 🎀

Can I choose what I receive in my Extra Bookish Pick?

Each capsule is picked at random, so specific products, colours, styles or designs can’t be guaranteed.
If you’ve left preferences for your main Mystery Bundle, I’ll always keep them in mind where possible, but they don’t guarantee what will be inside your additional capsule.

Can I add more than one Extra Bookish Pick?
Absolutely! If the option is available, you’re welcome to add more than one Extra Bookish Pick to your order. 📚✨
